Bo knew that River could be in their room, but after grabbing a bottle of booze from the bar, Bo ended up finding her way to Sam's door. Maybe he wasn't even here. Then what? She brought up her hand to knock, then paused, then knocked on the door anyways.
As she waited to see if there was an answer, she tried not to dwell on Emma's words, but really - was she just doomed never to have a good relationship? Maybe she was cursed - that was it. Trick would know who did it to her, but he wasn't at the inn to help her.
She twisted the cap off the vodka and took a swig.

Date: 2018-04-27 12:39 pm (UTC)She realized when Sam opened the door that she didn't really have a plan on what she wanted to do next or even say. She paused, then smiled. "Hey. I just thought maybe I'd stop by and see how my boyfriend is." Not entirely untrue, really.
Bo lifted the bottle. "And I brought drinks."

Date: 2018-04-28 11:31 pm (UTC)"I'm supposed to. 'Fine' is like the duty of the girlfriend to say. It's in our instruction manual." She smiled wryly to him and leaned over to kiss him softly.

Date: 2018-04-29 02:27 am (UTC)"Somehow I ended up getting a tarot reading today from Emma." Bo's ever first tarot reading and probably her last if she was being honest with herself. "I should have known that stuff was really real." Probably back home too. Seemed right up Fae alley.

Date: 2018-04-29 03:02 am (UTC)"Anyway, so, Emma read for you. And--" He stroked his hand over her arm. "What happened?"

Date: 2018-04-29 03:06 am (UTC)"And -" Bo made a vague gesture with her hands. "I thought of a question like she said to and she freaked out and said she wouldn't let herself look at it." Bo didn't understand entirely how the reading worked with Emma and the tarot cards. "Except that I got the Tower card and that was bad and to prepare myself for some bad surprises."

Date: 2018-04-29 04:03 am (UTC)"Well that's...kind of spooky." He put his arm around her and drew her in against his chest. "But dealing with bad surprises is pretty much what you, me, and our friends do. Right?"
no subject
Date: 2018-04-29 04:23 am (UTC)"Sure. Except I'm pretty sure I was asking about my love life and I'd really rather just deal with some crazy Fae attacking the inn than any bad surprise in that area." Bo surprised herself a little with being so forthcoming. Maybe she was just resounded to her fate.
She let herself close her eyes for just a moment to take in Sam's scent. It was grounding a little.

Date: 2018-04-29 04:52 am (UTC)"Baby." He almost never called her that, because he never wanted to be dismissive, but right now, she looked like she needed protecting. "We're okay. You and me. We're better than okay. We're great. Whatever happens, we'll deal with it. You, me, Molls if we need her."
Okay, so he still worried that she and Molls were going to die because that was what happened when women got involved with him and this wasn't helping. But... "Precognition isn't perfect. Even if what you see is true, it's not always true the way it seems to be. It almost never is."

Date: 2018-04-30 01:05 am (UTC)His reassurances helped a little, but Bo couldn't shake the idea that it was all true. She knew deep down inside that there was something about that tarot reading that was filled with truth and inevitability.
"I haven't exactly had a good track record with relationships... I tend to screw things up some how." First it had been accidentally killing her boyfriend. Things sort of never recovered from there.

Date: 2018-04-30 01:25 am (UTC)Sam tried to think it through and shrugged. "I mean, okay, if you got back with Dyson, that probably wouldn't be okay. But I'd like to think we'd be able to talk about it. If we couldn't, it would probably be because Regina broke your jaw more than anything," he said and offered her a little smile.
"I'm not saying we'll never break up, because we might--" They wouldn't. Sam didn't do break ups. All his girlfriends died. "But if we did, it would be because we decided we should. Not because some horrible thing you did made us crash and burn."

Date: 2018-04-30 02:32 am (UTC)Sam listing out various worst-case scenarios and then decrying them came with mixed feelings, but it was mostly good feelings. It was nice to know he had enough faith in them that nothing foreseeable could pull them apart. Bo looked at him, her fingers tracing his defined jaw line thoughtfully. "I'm going to hold you to that, you know."

Date: 2018-05-01 12:23 pm (UTC)"I don't know if you noticed, but I'm very stubborn and it takes a lot to kill me." It was Bo's turn to return the re-assuring smile as she squeezed his hand. "I'm too stubborn to die."

Date: 2018-05-02 04:05 am (UTC)It made him think, though. "Maybe she started to see something about one of us or Molly leaving. That would suck. A lot." He pulled her in for a slow, sweet kiss. "But it wouldn't be a break up, so it would hurt but at least it wouldn't be because one of us screwed up."

Date: 2018-05-03 03:05 am (UTC)The sweet kiss tugged at her chest, but seemed to warm her as well. It produced a more warm, genuine smile. "Let's just forget the tarot cards, okay? I probably just did it wrong anyways." She did that sometimes, doing whatever ritual or tradition wrong. "Thanks." She reached over to squeeze one of his hands.

He shifted to put his back against the arm of the couch, and then pulled her back up against his chest. "Who wants to know the future anyway? That takes all the fun out of it." Or turned life into a nightmare of trying and failing to keep bad things from happening.

Date: 2018-05-07 02:21 am (UTC)"I don't know... I wouldn't mind knowing what number to play on tomorrow's lottery." She smiled a little as he settled in against his chest. "Or who wins the superbowl."

Date: 2018-05-08 12:21 pm (UTC)Bo listened and tried not to smile, but some of it was kind of adorably funny. When Sam finished, she couldn't help asking, "Did you ever find your shoe?"
