Tarot Readings (Closed to Sam)
Bo knew that River could be in their room, but after grabbing a bottle of booze from the bar, Bo ended up finding her way to Sam's door. Maybe he wasn't even here. Then what? She brought up her hand to knock, then paused, then knocked on the door anyways.
As she waited to see if there was an answer, she tried not to dwell on Emma's words, but really - was she just doomed never to have a good relationship? Maybe she was cursed - that was it. Trick would know who did it to her, but he wasn't at the inn to help her.
She twisted the cap off the vodka and took a swig.

Sam listing out various worst-case scenarios and then decrying them came with mixed feelings, but it was mostly good feelings. It was nice to know he had enough faith in them that nothing foreseeable could pull them apart. Bo looked at him, her fingers tracing his defined jaw line thoughtfully. "I'm going to hold you to that, you know."

"I don't know if you noticed, but I'm very stubborn and it takes a lot to kill me." It was Bo's turn to return the re-assuring smile as she squeezed his hand. "I'm too stubborn to die."

It made him think, though. "Maybe she started to see something about one of us or Molly leaving. That would suck. A lot." He pulled her in for a slow, sweet kiss. "But it wouldn't be a break up, so it would hurt but at least it wouldn't be because one of us screwed up."

The sweet kiss tugged at her chest, but seemed to warm her as well. It produced a more warm, genuine smile. "Let's just forget the tarot cards, okay? I probably just did it wrong anyways." She did that sometimes, doing whatever ritual or tradition wrong. "Thanks." She reached over to squeeze one of his hands.

"Always."
He shifted to put his back against the arm of the couch, and then pulled her back up against his chest. "Who wants to know the future anyway? That takes all the fun out of it." Or turned life into a nightmare of trying and failing to keep bad things from happening.

"I don't know... I wouldn't mind knowing what number to play on tomorrow's lottery." She smiled a little as he settled in against his chest. "Or who wins the superbowl."

Bo listened and tried not to smile, but some of it was kind of adorably funny. When Sam finished, she couldn't help asking, "Did you ever find your shoe?"
